The Université Paris-Est Management Board, meeting on Tuesday 6 July 2021, elected Gaëlle Lissorgues as Vice-President in charge of the ComUE's projects by 22 votes out of 22 directors, present and represented.  She has held the position of Project Manager to the President since 1 April 2021 and is responsible for developing the Paris-Est Sup project mission, whose first Project Board meeting was held on 29 June this year.

Gaëlle Lissorgues is an alumnus of the École Normale Supérieure de Cachan, holding an Agrégation (teaching diploma) in Physics and a DEA (Diploma of Advanced Studies) in Electronics. She earned a PhD in Electronics at Université Paris VI in 1997. A member of the ESYCOM laboratory and associate professor in the telecommunications department at ESIEE Paris (Université Gustave Eiffel), she teaches and develops expertise in MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems), sensors and micro-technologies for telecommunications and Radio Frequency (RF) applications.

In 2006, Gaëlle Lissorgues obtained her Accreditation to Supervise Research (Habilitation à diriger des recherches – HDR) from Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée and then joined the Electronics Department at ESIEE Paris. Within ESYCOM's "Sensors for Health and Biointerfaces" team, she then focussed her research activities on new applications for microsystems and microtechnology in bioscience, in particular neuroscience, chemical or biological microsensors and innovative encapsulation adapted to that type of MEMS. In 2012, she created a department within ESIEE Paris on the themes of Health, Energy and the Environment in order to set up engineering specialisations in energy efficiency and renewable energies on the one hand, and biotechnology and e-health on the other. She is involved in programmes funded by the European Union and collaborates on numerous academic and industrial projects, including the development of new materials for sensors. She has participated in 10 patents as a co-inventor in the fields of sensors, implantable medical devices and microtechnology processes.

At Paris-Est Sup, Gaëlle Lissorgues has been heading the Mathematics and ICST doctoral school since January 2019. Appointed as Project Manager to the President on 1 April 2021, she is working on the rollout of the ComUE's new project mission, which aims to generate academic and scientific projects involving teams from Paris-Est Sup's member and associate institutions.

"This new project mission - which I am happy to be leading - will enable us to make collaboration happen within our community on the themes of the city and health, as well as many other themes covered in the region."
