Pursuant to Article L335-5 of the French Education Code, amended by Act N°2016-1088 of 8 August 2016 on employment, the modernization of social dialogue and securing professional pathways:

Persons able to prove the following situations, directly related to the diploma, certificate or other formal qualification mentioned are eligible to apply for validation of acquired experience (Article L6411-1 of the French Labour Code): 

• professional activity, whether salaried or not;
• electoral, union, non-profit, volunteer activity;
• registered on the lists of top-level athletes specified under the first paragraph of Article L221-2 of the French Sports Code.

The minimum period of activity required for the validation application to be admissible is one year, irrespective of whether the activity was undertaken continuously or not, full time or part time. Initial or continuing training periods in professional environments may be taken into account.
