On Tuesday 26 February 2019, the Management Board of Université Paris-Est elected Mr Alexandre Maitrot de la Motte 1st Vice-President of the Comue Université Paris-Est with 25 votes "for", 0 votes "against" and 2 abstentions.
Alexandre Maitrot de la Motte is a public law graduate from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Paris Institute of Political Studies) and a professor at Université Paris-Est Créteil Val de Marne (UPEC), where he directs the Master's degree in "Tax Law, Specialising in Applied Taxation" and has founded the "Marchés, Institutions, Libertés" ("Markets, Institutions, Freedoms") research team (EA 7382). He mainly teaches European and international tax law, on which he has written numerous books and reference articles in France and abroad.
As Scientific Director of La Revue de Droit Fiscal and Le Juris-classeur Fiscal International, Alexandre Maitrot de la Motte is also a member of the editorial committees of several international journals (Middle East and North Africa Business Law Review; and Revue Tunisienne de Fiscalité). He has also been a jury member for the national competitive examination for the Agrégation in public law (2017-2018) and the competitive entry examination for France's grande école for access to the senior civil service, the École Nationale d'Administration (2011 and 2012). He has conducted several expert appraisals for the European Commission and the European Parliament in the field of European and international taxation. Between 2016 and 2018, he was a member of the UPEC management teams (institutional and legal affairs, finance, communication).
Alexandre Maitrot de la Motte will undertake the duties entrusted to him on the occasion of his appointment, in November 2018, as project manager to Philippe Tchamitchian, President of Université Paris-Est. In particular, he will work on the Comue's research issues, implementation of the new doctoral system and application of UPE's policy on accreditation to supervise research. Finally, under the authority of the President, Alexandre Maitrot de la Motte will participate in preparing for statutory and economic developments at the Comue, liaising with the Comue's member and associate institutions, as well as their supervisory authorities.
