ComUE Université Paris-Est launched a call for applications in the third quarter of 2020 to recruit visiting professors and researchers from abroad to join the research teams in its member and partner institutions. After seeking the advice of the directors of the doctoral schools and the Committee for Doctoral Training, the UPE president selected eight leading figures who met the stated selection criteria. In addition to being resident overseas, they must:

  • Enjoy a good reputation in their field (publications, H index, other indicators of scientific recognition, etc.).
  • Be able to develop relations with the host research team and bring added value in terms of their scientific input, complementary skills, contribution of new knowledge and innovations, initiation of a lasting partnership, response to a call for European or international projects, etc.
  • Be able to play a role in the key areas of a doctoral school or cross-functionally with two doctoral schools, and reach the target audience of doctoral students and their scientific community.
  • Provide original and significant added value to UPE in at least one of the following areas:

- Join one of UPE’s two thematic clusters: the city, environment and their engineering – health and society;
- Fall within the fields of human and social sciences or mathematics and ICTS (information and communications technology and science).
