As part of its 2020 budget, Université Paris-Est will fund projects designed to develop new forms of cooperation between its members and partners for a total amount of EUR 200,000.

The support granted to each project by Université Paris-Est will be for a maximum of EUR 50,000 for a maximum period of 14 months. The expenditure must be made in 2020 and 2021.

The aim of this call is to launch innovative projects and stimulate new joint initiatives on the Paris-Est site at three interfaces:

  • Geographic (Créteil & Maisons-Alfort / Champs-sur-Marne / other Paris east sites - all included).
  • Thematic (see below).
  • Institutional (type of institution: with a higher education and research mission and other institutions).

More specifically, the aim is to finance closer links between academic and scientific activities and to help new communities form. The objective is also to start up new joint initiatives, which will not necessarily result in actual production at this stage (although this is not out ruled out).

The projects to be funded must apply to at least two entities attached to two different institutions, and to at least one of the three interfaces mentioned above. These projects must be innovative compared to the usual work undertaken, especially if several entities submitting a joint application already work together.

The funded projects must be positioned within the strategies of the members and partners of Université Paris-Est where they have been keen to strengthen their cooperation. The following themes are encouraged:

  • Digital and data
  • Health
  • City
  • Public policy
  • Environment
  • Risks
  • Sustainability

This list is not exhaustive. Projects lying at the geographic and institutional interfaces that would enable new cooperation to emerge will be examined with the greatest interest, particularly if there is an interaction between human and social sciences / hard sciences.

Deadline for returning applications: Friday, October 23, 2020 at 5 p.m.
