The seventh regional final of Paris-Est Sup’s Ma Thèse en 180 Secondes – My Thesis in 180 Seconds – competition took place on March 9, 2021. Following eight presentations, two candidates were selected by the jury to represent the ComUE in the national semi-final.

Myrna Insua from the Cultures and Societies Doctoral School won the Jury Prize for the presentation of her thesis Apparaître. Le statut de la parole du survivant dans la construction de la mémoire de la violence politique et le terrorisme d'Etat en Argentine, which she is studying for at the Institut des Mondes Anglophone, Germanique et Roman (IMAGER).

Loren Masson, from the Sciences, Engineering and the Environment (SIE) Doctoral School, also received the Jury Prize and Audience Award for the presentation of her thesis Stabilisation et consolidation de matériaux argileux pour la construction terre crue, which she is working on in the Sols, Roches et Ouvrages géotechniques (SRO) Laboratory.

The jury was made up of Alexandre Maitrot de la Motte, president of Université Paris-Est and president of the jury; Eddie Barazzuol, co-founder of TheMetaNews; Amina Bécheur, a research fellow at Université Gustave Eiffel; and Samar Delpeuch, regional facilitator for culture, higher education and research at CASDEN Banque Populaire.
